Last summer we released Batsauce’s ‘Summertime’ project, an album constructed entirely of different versions of Gershwin’s classic song of the same name. Recommended usages for ‘Summertime’ include: Chilling at the beach/boardwalk/park with friends/family/lovers, or as a soundtrack to your rooftop barbecue/block party with homies/cousins/associates.
More reasons to listen include guest artists Mr. Lif, Akrobatik, MassInfluence, Paten Locke, Qwazaar (of Typical Cats), Dillon, Lady Daisey, Chop, Wynton Kelly Stevenson, and yours truly, Baje One. Hard to believe this was almost a whole year ago… Modern Shark is getting OLD!
We did this interview on the day of the Modern Shark WFMU takeover. Shout out to Billy Jam and the whole team at WFMU – best radio station around.
“That’s The Way” by Junk Science, then “Computer Rock” by Baje One, King Guttah I, & StarPower, with Scott Thorough on the beat. Shouts to Donovan Kasp on the video. This was from the “A Miraculous Kind Of Machine” LP release party last year, but was only recently unearthed by Donovan.
It’s too hot to type yall. I’m done.
I remember coming up with some convoluted answers to some of these questions, and while babbling I was thinking to myself “I wonder if this will look convoluted when it’s all typed up.” Turns out the answer to that question is YES! Check out the interview here.
Now that “Phoenix Down” is officially out in the world, and we’ve been getting some of that good ol love, we’ve decided to share a bit more of the album with yall. So go ahead and download “30 Lives”, which is kinda like the thesis statement of the album. Lyrics after the jump.

Sharklaborator Batsauce handles the production side of a new project with Qwazaar (of Typical Cats) entitled “Style Be The King”. “Shake” is the first single, and if it’s any indication, this record is gonna be fun.
The album is due out in early July, and they’re taking pre-orders here.
Have a good weekend yall.
