Bi-Polar Bear is: Ugly Orwell on beats and rhymes and August on beats and rhymes (and sometimes singing). After hours of deadlocked negotiations and several morally-questionable games of shuffleboard at a bar in Brooklyn, these two finally got drunk enough to sign with Modern Shark. The seriousness of the moment was captured in the above contract. Expect “When Ledge Is Home” in Springtime if all goes according to plan. Also expect a guest appearance from Junk Science and guest production by Blue Sky Black Death. For now, you can catch up with your Bi-Polar Bear history on their facebook page, and on their website.

An oldie but goodie for people who are truly down with the Shark. Big Urban is Scott Thorough on the beats and Kray on the raps. Their first EP (listen above) came out in 2009. We pressed a million copies of it and stuffed them into a rocketship, then sent that rocketship into the sun. It went space-plat. Back on earth, though, only a select few knew about it.

The good news, though, is that Big Urban is coming back in February with a brand-new EP!!! If you heard the most recent Modern Shark Sampler Tape then you heard Big Urban’s “Kick The Can” and you already know what you’re in for. More soon.
