I definitely liked this song before seeing the video, but somehow the video makes his delivery even more impressive.
Shouts to Billy Jam from WFMU who makes a lil cameo as one of the prisoners!

This came out a few years ago, but you probably didn’t hear it. I was on a bus with DJ Ese on our way to Boston to open up for Mr. Lif, and he gave me his ear buds and played me this song. I remember telling him that he should try to sign these guys, but it ended up not working out.
E-Dot and Darp Malone are Hero. And back in 2007 they described this as “grown-folk music” (that is, hip hop created by grown folk who understand that their experiences and mature points of view could actually serve as a BENEFIT to the musical and cultural landscape of the music).
This was the direction that adult-oriented hip hop could have taken / could still take (God willing).
Making music with your friends is fun. It’s kinda the basis for this whole Modern Shark thing.
Check out the actual track:
And if you likey, cop the album in the shark store.
Rocksmith, URB, Prism, Brooklyn Bodega, & Modern Shark urge you to get your night owl on. Junk will be on stage at 12:45. Apparently this show goes all night and clear on through to sunrise.
CMJ is a clusterfuck, so skip the party and head straight to the afterparty.
This beautiful drawing by Lizzy Sullivan will be gracing the cover of the limited-edition Baje One / J. Howells Werthman vinyl (and the digital version too, of course).
Pre-order coming soon.
Look at Snaf with that camera, he looks so happy, like a schoolboy at a a toe-sucking party.

It aint much on the eyes, but this video is definitely worth listening to. Maybe I can sign Lupe to The Shark, no 360 deals over here…
“This worldly beatmaker comes from Berlin, Germany via Jacksonville, Florida. Skilled in the craft of flipping amazing samples into melodic beats, Batsauce is posed to be the next ‘it’ thing in the world of underground hip-hop. With Mr. Lif, Akrobatik, Paten Locke already on the resume, check out his Summertime EP and a upcoming project with Qwazaar.” Travis Glave

So we were in Philly for a show this past weekend. We crashed at my cousin’s house in Bristol, PA. My boy Muffin was asking me to tattoo him. This is what you get when you tell me I can tattoo anything besides a penis on you.
We got some amazing pictures and footage from our trip… stay tuned.
